OFSTED APPLAUDS CRANBROOK’S VALUE ADD IN PUPILS’ GCSE EXAMINATION SUCCESS

 

13 July 2012:  Staff and pupils of Cognita’s Cranbrook School in Ilford are celebrating today following the publishing of an Ofsted Inspection Report which commends the school for the quality of education and applauds the added value that the School achieves for each and every pupil.

The Report which follows a visit by Inspectors on 20 and 21 June 2012, also praises the School for the strong relationships that existing between the staff and pupils...

“The quality of relationships between students and with teachers is excellent........Students are performing well above the national average at the end of each key stage, including in their GCSE results, and it is clear that this represents good progress from their various starting points.

The inspectors agreed that across the school full age range, the overall quality of education is good, as is the curriculum and the quality of teaching and assessment. Inspectors also commended the outstanding dialogue between teachers and students produced by effective questioning from staff.

Parents will be pleased to know that pupils’ behaviour was rated as outstanding. The School is also commended for ensuring the welfare, health and safety of students, including safeguarding, to an outstanding standard and for prioritising personal qualities of courtesy and respect so that moral and social development is strong.
