Mathematics
At Cranbrook College, Mathematical excellence is one of our pivotal pillars of success. In our Mathematics department, we aim to provide an inspiring and stimulating environment for all of our students. We aim to give each and every child the confidence to use a wide range of mathematical skills, especially those which they will need for adult life. Our vision is for every child to achieve their full potential and believe in their own mathematical ability, always improving upon their best and striving for the utmost academic success. We believe that every child has a right to a rounded mathematical education and the opportunity to show their worth through the national examination system at a level which will allow them to succeed and excel, with flair and flamboyance. This is evident in our outstanding achievements and results, over the recent years. Our Mathematics Department aims to integrate diversity in learning, which is implemented by our highly professional team members, who have a passion for their subject bring a ‘work related flavour’ to lessons and Department initiatives. National initiatives that we have had success include Masterclasses, Mathletics, University of Cambridge Motivate and UK Maths Challenge. Each link contains information on assessments for learning, learning programmes, transition from one keystage to another, revision links, home learning, targets and grade/level descriptors, examination guidance and practice papers. These pages are continuously updated and serve as a portal for both parents and students. For further elucidation, do not hesitate to contact our Department, who are ever willing to explain and help.
