Literacy
In the Junior School we use the New Primary Framework for teaching Literacy. This gives detailed aims for teaching, reading and writing. These are taught during a daily Literacy lesson for all pupils. We concentrate on the four key skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. We recognise that Literacy provides a vital foundation for all aspects of the curriculum and we offer a creative and exciting programme where we expect, and achieve, high standards of learning.
Our aim is for our children to be able to read, write and speak with confidence, fluency and understanding. Through reading and writing we enable them to develop their powers of imagination, inventiveness and critical awareness.
